Bespoke websites for brands that want to look as good as their work.

Can a website be built in a day?

Yes, when the work that usually slows a website down is finished before the day starts. Here is that work, how the day runs, and who it suits.

NAVA Events: the evening’s run sheet, and the website on a tablet

The short version

  1. Yes. A landing page can be built in 24 to 48 hours and a one-page website in 48 to 72, because the plan and the material are ready first.
  2. The structure, final copy, photographs and brand files are agreed and sent before a date is booked.
  3. The clock starts at a time agreed in writing, once content, access and payment are in.
  4. You join short check-ins online and make the decisions. The build carries on between them.

In this article

Can a website be built in a day? Yes, and the fair reaction is suspicion. A website in a day sounds like somebody filling in a template, or skipping the part where your business gets understood.

The explanation is in which day it is. The day you book is the build day, and everything the build needs is agreed before it starts. That is how a landing page gets built in 24 to 48 hours, and a one-page website in 48 to 72.

How can a website be built in a day?

You can, when the day only has building left to do. A website takes weeks when the work arrives in the wrong order: the design starts, then waits for a paragraph, then for a photograph, then for someone to decide what the page is for.

On a booked build day the hours go on assembling the page, reviewing it with you, making the small tweaks that follow and publishing. Nothing is written or chosen on the day except the corrections a review turns up.

The same method stretches across longer builds. A five-page website runs over five booked working days, and a larger site, like a law firm with six practice areas, is built in stages you sign off.

What has to be ready before the build day

Before a date is booked, in this order:

  1. We agree the structure of the site: the sections, their order, and the point where the visitor is asked to get in touch.
  2. You send the final copy, the chosen photographs and your brand files.
  3. Access to your domain and hosting is shared securely after booking.

The thinking a website needs happens at this stage, and we do it together, with time to change our minds. If you are not sure what to gather, what to prepare before a website project lists it.

With the structure agreed, each section already knows its words and its photograph before the build begins. The design decisions on the day are about type, spacing, colour and how the page reads on a phone, which is where the hours should go.

If something is still missing at the agreed start, we agree a new date together. The build does not begin half-ready.

How the build day runs

The 24 hours start at a time we agree in writing, once your content, files, access and payment are in. Sending an enquiry does not start the clock, and no build begins with a balance unpaid.

  1. StartAt the time agreed in writing
  2. Check-inThe layout, with your words in place
  3. Check-inThe full page, on desktop and phone
  4. Final tweaksYour single list of changes
  5. PublishLive on your hosting
How a build day runs

It is not 24 hours of non-stop design or support. The check-in times are fixed in advance, and between them the build goes ahead without waiting on anybody. Every meeting is held online, so before booking we choose check-in times that suit both time zones.

If your domain and hosting are set up and connected before the build, the site is live at the end of it. If they are not ready, the site is finished and can be published the moment they are.

The day you book is the build day, and everything the build needs is agreed before it starts.

What a one-day build can include, and what it can’t

A landing page of up to six sections fits the one-day build. A one-page website of up to eight sections follows the same method over two to three days. Each comes with a tested enquiry form, mobile and tablet layouts, page titles and descriptions, a round of final tweaks and a handover walkthrough.

Some work never fits inside a single day, and it is better to know that before you book:

  • Words written from scratch. Copy you supply can be polished; original copywriting is agreed before a build is booked.
  • A brand you don’t have yet. Colours and a type pairing can be set up first, as a Brand Starter Kit.
  • Many pages of their own. Five pages run over five booked days, and larger sites are scoped and quoted.
  • Shops and booking systems beyond a tested form or a booking link.

Is a website built in a day still bespoke?

Yes, because the speed comes from the preparation. I start from my own tested layout system, so the foundations are solid, and then design each section around your copy, your photographs and your brand.

An AI website builder can produce a page in minutes, and it looks like the other pages it produced that day. What it can’t give you is the judgement: which photograph leads, what the first line should say, where to leave space. That judgement is what you are investing in, and most of it is done before the clock starts.

Who a website in a day suits

It suits an owner who knows the offer, has the words and photographs ready, wants to launch soon and can make decisions during the build.

It suits less well when the business is still deciding what it sells, or when three people need to approve every change. Then a five-page website over a week, or a plan agreed in stages, gives the decisions the time they need.

What a website in a day costs

A landing page starts from $500 and is built in 24 to 48 hours. A one-page website starts from $700 and is built in 48 to 72 hours. Your written quote confirms the scope, dates and any extras before anything is booked, and every package is set out on the services page.

An 80% booking payment reserves your dates once the agreement is accepted, and the remaining 20% clears five business days before the build. A short-notice booking is paid in full.

Questions people ask about a website in a day

How long does it take to build a website?

A landing page takes 24 to 48 hours of booked build time, a one-page website 48 to 72 hours and a five-page website five working days. The preparation before that depends on how ready your words and photographs are.

Can I build a website in a day myself?

With a template or an AI builder, yes, and to test an idea quickly that can be enough. A website that has to carry a brand you have invested in needs the plan, the copy and the art direction worked out first, which is the part a builder skips.

Will my website be live the same day?

Yes, if your domain and hosting are connected before the build. If they are not, the site is finished and published the moment they are.

What happens if my content isn’t ready?

We agree a new start date together. A build that stops to wait for a paragraph is no longer a one-day build, so it does not begin half-ready.

Do we need to meet in person?

No. I work with brands worldwide, and every check-in is held online, at times that suit both time zones.

Planning a website of your own?

Put the week you want to launch in the date field of the enquiry form. It books nothing yet, and it tells me which dates to check before I reply.

Hi, I'm Alan.

I design bespoke websites for brands that want to look as good as their work. Read the quick answers below, or send me your budget and your project on WhatsApp.

Quick answers

A website planned and designed for your business only. First we agree who the site is for and what visitors should do. Then every page is designed around your own words, photos and brand. Nothing is copied from a ready-made theme.

A template is a finished design that waits for your content. Your text is cut to fit its boxes, your photos are cropped to its shapes, and other businesses use the same design. A bespoke website starts with your business, so each section fits what you sell and how you present it.

You have spent years and money on your name, your photos and your reputation. A bespoke website shows that same quality online, so new clients see the standard of your work before they contact you.

I take on a few projects at a time, so each website gets my full attention from the first plan to launch day.

People and businesses who have invested in their brand:

  • Coaches, consultants, speakers, therapists and influencers
  • Law firms, attorneys and advisers
  • Interior designers, architects and home stylists
  • Event planners, wedding planners and decorators
  • Coworking spaces, studios and venues
  • Photographers, artists, writers, schools, lodges and other service businesses

Here are five websites I designed and built, each for a different kind of business:

See all five websites

  • Landing page: from $500
  • One-page website: from $700
  • Five-page website: from $1,350
  • Larger websites: from $1,750
  • Website Care: from $129 a month

Your budget sets the scope. Your written quote confirms the price and dates before anything is booked.

  • An email signature, a Google Business Profile, analytics or an email signup

Send me the link and what you need, and I confirm the price before we start.

From $129 a month: updates with a backup first, a test message through your form, broken links fixed and a short note on what was done.

Content updates, security checks and a monthly analytics report can be added to your plan. You can stop with a month’s notice.

Yes. Your website is built on WordPress, HTML or Canva, whichever suits how you will run it, and it is set up in your name. At handover I show you how to make everyday changes yourself.

No. I work with brands worldwide, and every meeting is online, on WhatsApp, Zoom or Google Meet.
